SCULPTURAL BARRIER

Works still in progress, expect to be completed mid-February 2018.
Project developed in collaboration and consultation with:

The amphitheater on the outside of the Pridham Hall created an inverted pyramid on the inside of the building. An obstacle or barrier was required to prevent people from accidentally walking into the inverted pyramid and suffering an injury. The area still needs to be accessible so that the sponsors names can be read, which are posted on the inverted pyramid.

A sculptural barrier was designed to create a visual presence and physical barrier that reduces the potential for accidental head bumping, without inhibiting the thoroughfare or restricting access to view the sponsors names.

The design of the sculptures need to complement the visual lanuage of the architecture and have a presence without making too much of a statement.
